The Lantern Terrace leasing office is still under construction. A temporary office is located at 403 S. Mission Drive, San Gabriel, CA 91776 from 10:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday.

No, there is no preference for Alhambra residents.
What is the qualification process?
Lantern Terrace will have minimum and maximum income restrictions. All potential residents will be screened utilizing self-reported information and published resident selection criteria per California regulatory requirements. Please see our Income and Rent information on this website.
How much is rent at Lantern Terrace?
Rents are based on a percentage of Area Median Income and vary by household size and bedroom type. Net rents by bedroom type are anticipated to be: Two-bedroom apartments range from $936 to $1,872, and three-bedroom apartments are anticipated to range from $1,081 to $2,163. The studio and one-bedroom apartments have been reserved as Supportive Housing units. Eligible households will pay approximately 30% of their adjusted income for rent. Rents are subject to change at any time.
Where can I mail my application?

What happens if some of my family are traveling when they are contacted for an interview?
All applicants must be present to participate in the interview process to be considered for housing at Lantern Terrace.
Does Lantern Terrace offer on-site storage or garages?
No, Lantern Terrace will not offer additional onsite storage. The site will not have enclosed garages.
What are the parking options?
There are twenty-six (26) parking spaces located on the upper level of the neighboring parking structure, and four (4) spaces for handicap and EV parking located on the ground level of the neighboring parking structure. Additional information regarding parking will be made available during the leasing process.
What are the transportation options?
The Lantern Terrace leasing office does not provide transportation services. Alhambra offers several public transportation options, including the Alhambra Community Transit (ACT) shuttle bus that offers fixed-route bus service within Alhambra city limits and beyond, including to schools, parks, shopping centers, restaurants and public facilities. The ACT shuttle bus costs 25 cents. Lantern Terrace is in walking distance to shopping, services and entertainment.
Will Lantern Terrace offer social services and resident events?
When Lantern Terrace is 100% occupied there will be some customized services for residents based on individual needs. Programs for residents will be based on the needs of the community and provided at move-in. Residents living in the supportive housing units will receive personalized social services based on their assessed needs.
Are these apartments rent controlled or are rent subsidies attached?
Rent control does not apply at Lantern Terrace as Lantern Terrace is a deed restricted community. Rental subsidies will be available through LACDA for the reserved Supportive Housing units only. Minimum and maximum income limits do apply.
Are subsidies from family members allowed?
All recurring gifts from family members not currently residing with the applicant will be confirmed and counted as part of your total household annual income. Please feel free to contact us with specific questions after you are assigned an application number and contacted for an interview.
Is the income based on one person’s income?
No, income sources for all household members over the age of eighteen are accounted for on the application. Income is based on the total gross household income of all household members.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, Lantern Terrace is a pet-friendly community. Please see the Lantern Terrace Pet Policy. A pet deposit of $300 does apply.

Are short-term leases available?
No, all leases are a 12-month lease.
If I applied at another Related-owned or managed property in Southern California, do I need to complete a new application?
Yes, each Related-owned or managed property has its own application process.
Will Lantern Terrace offer bicycle storage?
No, there is no onsite storage.
What amenities does Lantern Terrace offer?
Lantern Terrace will offer a gated entry, an approximately 1,200 square foot community room with computer area, a covered playground, roof deck/terrace, and laundry rooms.
Will any units be available for sale?
No, all units will be for rent. There will be no units for sale.
